Faial Horta Marina

The Marina in Faial Horta is quite a colourful place to say the least. There is a long tradition that dictates that each ship must leave a painting or be faced with bad luck on their voyage. I suppose you could call it a superstition!

Virtually every concrete surface is covered in paintings. Over time they fade from the weather and another painting goes right over top. Each painting tells a story about a crew that stopped over in Horta's marina. Take a look for yourself:
