Miradouro - firewood?

by Bill
(Canada)

Hi, I've read a few posts that recommend stopping at these lookout points and having a bbq lunch. Do we need to bring/find firewood or charcoal? Are there any rules to follow, other than common sense when working with fire?

Thanks!

Hi Bill,
Thanks for asking. I am not aware of any rules. Basically it is first come first serve and bring your own wood or charcoal. If you use common sense and are respectful of the environment then you should have no issues.

Unless it is a holiday you should have no issue finding a place to BBQ

Enjoy!

BBQ wood
by: Christian

Hi Bill,
here on Santa Maria Island the wood is supplied by the local Forest Services, usually there is wood ready at the BBQ places but of course in high season it might be that someone already used and therefore none is left or not yet replaced. So you might want to bring a few pieces - charcoal you would have to bring.

Common sense is very wellcome ;)

enjoy, best regards,
Christian
