Rob's reply re: April Weather in the Azores
Hi Tony
Thanks for the compliments! I have a great time working on the site.
If you and your son want guaranteed hot weather where you can spend every day on the beach, April is not the time to go. The hottest, sunniest, weather is in July and August.
April will be mixed weather, some beautiful warm sunny days, and some cool, damp and foggy days. Or sometimes all of that in the same day!
The average range in April temperature is between 12 and 17 degrees Celsius (53 and 63 Fahrenheit). I can tell you from personal experience that I have experienced many days that are higher than the statistical average.
My wife's first trip to the Azores was in March. She likes hot sunny weather and was disappointed to get cooler, foggy weather on that trip. So it depends on what you guys hope for weather wise.
If you pack a couple of sweaters and light coats and bring a good attitude, you should be very comfortable and have a wonderful trip.
I'd love to hear more about the trip. Please share some pictures on the site when you get back. You can do that here:
Your Azores PhotosThanks again for asking. If I can do anything else, please let me know.
Sincerely,
