The Lighthouse at Capelinhos in Faial Azores

The lighthouse in Capelinhos (in Faial Azores) was the only structure that survived a year long volcanic eruption from 1957-58.

It really is quite an interesting structure well worth a visit while on Faial island in the Azores.

The whole area is really quite interesting due to the new land created by the eruption.
