Lagoa do Fogo

Last time I went to Sao Miguel I had to visit Lagao do Fogo between Ribeira Grande and Lagoa. Most folks stop at the vista point on the road as they are heading from Riberia Grande. But, if one continues on to the south about 100 yards, there is a small road that heads up to the radio towers. The road is narrow, but the view is spectacular. One can also take a short hike on the rim and get many different views of the lake.

Thanks for sharing that picture and the information. I know exactly where you mean. In fact, the third picture down in my Azores Photo Gallery page is facing the opposite direction from your view.
